To a certain extent, the foods you eat can affect the state of your teeth and gums. How often you eat them also plays a role. Having too many servings of sugary treats and you will likely be experiencing  tooth decay. Tooth decay is not only about sugar alone. It is caused by a lack of minerals, vitamins, and other nutrients that are important for healthy gums. Your teeth and gums are more likely to be healthy if you eat properly.

High-fiber foods keep the saliva flowing that helps in the prevention of cavities and tooth decay. Includes dates, nuts, apples, sprouts, figs, raisins, bananas, and oranges in your diet.

Take A Note Of Sugar and Carbohydrate Intake
Sugars and carbohydrates when combined with plaque creates acids that eat away at your enamel, thereby resulting in cavities.That’s why it is best to monitor sugar and carbohydrate intake. Select foods with low sugar levels and limit the carbs and starchy foods in your diet.

Go for whole grains whenever possible.They will help keep your gums and teeth healthy while also providing you with a higher amount of fiber.

Add Vitamins to Your Diet
Most of us don’t get the recommended daily amounts of vitamins from our diets. Try getting enough potassium.  Vitamins help make your teeth much stronger by stimulating saliva production.
